Author to Showcase Comic Artwork at 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International

Comic creator and Star Trek:TNG writer Richard Krzemien, will make a rare in-person appearance at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, to sign copies of his IPPY-nominated
"The Writer at Work™" comic artwork.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 2, 2009 -- Richard Krzemien, the writer and Illustrator of "The Writer at Work™" comics,
has been invited to showcase his comic artwork at this year's 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International comic convention. From July 23rd through the 26th,
Mr. Krzemien will be meeting with fans and autographing copies of his IPPY-nominated book
"The Writer at Work," in the Artist's
Alley section (Booth #AA90) on the convention floor.
The book's foreword was written by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost, Jacob's Ladder, My Life, Deep Impact).
A long-time fan of the comic, Rubin says "The Writer at Work" finds more humor in the writing experience than anything else I've ever come across.
Richard Krzemien created "The Writer at Work" in 2001, one month before 9/11. Looking back on that anxious period Krzemien says,
"I love to make people laugh. But if you remember, right after 9/11 all humor was banned. Then duct tape was selected as our first line of defense
against terrorism and comedy soon returned."
In addition to being a comic illustrator, Mr. Krzemien is also a writer and actor. He has written for various TV shows including Star Trek:TNG.
His episode entitled "The Last Outpost," was the first to introduce Star Trek fans to the infamous alien Ferengi.
As an actor, Mr. Krzemien has had featured background roles in movies such as Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams, and Burn After Reading,
directed by the Academy Award®-winning Coen Brothers. "Writing for Star Trek: The Next Generation and then appearing in the
Star Trek movie was a dream come true," recalls Krzemien.
"In the past I had always hoped to be living in the future, and now it appears that I am."
"The Writer at Work" comic highlights the trials and tribulations of its main character The Writer, using a unique style that mixes the working
world of Dilbert with the absurdity of The Far Side. Mr. Krzemien's 80-page book features the best of his full-color comics, as well as a chapter of
humorous revelations from a host of award-winning writers.
It is distributed by Restless Minds Press, and may be viewed online by visiting the company's website at www.RestlessMindsPress.com.
Richard Krzemien is a member of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and AFTRA. For additional information about
